Is Antalya a Safe Place to Live In or Visit?

Antalya is one of the most popular holiday provinces of Turkey. There are many resorts where you can relax, rest, and enjoy the sea and sun. With its developed touristic facilities, you can find exciting and also relaxing activities almost every day you spend in the Mediterranean.

Is Antalya a Safe Place to Live or Visit?

Yes! As a country that experiences four seasons, Turkey attracts tens of millions of tourists every year. Antalya is the most preferred city in Turkey based on the number of incoming foreign visitors. As a foreigner, your safety and comfort will be held above all.

Visited by 32 percent of the 49 million foreign tourists in 2018, Antalya has over 500 4-star and 5-star hotels in its center and surrounding towns such as Kemer, Belek, and Kaş. Belek district by itself manages to attract 2 million foreign tourists through its beautiful beaches, ancient history, as well as adventure sports.

Konyaaltı

This district is perhaps the most visited one in all of Turkey for summer tourism. It is the biggest and the most famous public beach in Antalya. Its 7 km long sandy beach stretches in front of many hotels, shops, restaurants, beach clubs, and malls in the city. You will be amazed by the view of the snowy Taurus Mountains that you will see from Konyaalti Beach.

Konyaaltı's global fame has convinced the government to make various investments to improve accommodations of the area. Reaching 450 Million Turkish Liras in funds, two megaprojects were announced early 2017, completed construction, and opened by the summer of 2018. The first one is the biggest renovation project the province has ever seen. The Boğaçay Marina has renovated the district's coastal line completely to hold multiple giant cruise lines and build a new port for the ever increasing numbers of yacht visitors.

Konyaaltı's Coastal Project has only improved the number of visitors Antalya pulls every year. There is now a theme park, a zoo, and a new beach alongside various new residential projects on the 7km long beach.

Kaş

As the western district of Antalya, Kaş is a highly touristic location for being surrounded by ancient civilizations such as Apollonia, and Kyaenai. In the south of the area, the Greek island Castelrosso is just 2 km away. Kaş receives a great deal of summer tourism. Still, it is not difficult to see non-locals every season, thanks to the district never experiencing below 0 Celsius weather all year round.

The city of Patara is established by the district of Kaş, in Antalya. It is also close to Fethiye by Muğla province. Patara beach is a wonder to explore. You will get to experience a perfect sunset from the hills overlooking the Mediterranean sea. It is a matchless experience to smell fresh air produced by Pine trees, as you walk on the beach.

Around the Belek district, there are so many beaches where the sea turtles known as Caretta Caretta lay their eggs. These areas are under the protection but many people go on the spots to witness this beautiful event of nature. Seeing baby turtles hatch out from their eggs and run to the sea would make you have emotional moments.

Kemer

As one of the districts of Antalya, Kemer has managed to amaze tourists in the last two decades. The hotel business seems to be improving every aspect of life in the community. Kemer was home to many ancient civilizations before and now protects their leftover cultural heritage. The Ancient City of Olympus, as well as the Chimera Stone, are located here. While the district shares the climate with the rest of the Mediterranean coasts, it is possible to see snow on the top of the Toros mountains surrounding the region.

Along all this ancient history, hidden among the mountain ranges, Kemer holds various adventure sport destinations, from scuba diving in lakes, to rafting alongside Toros, and a magnificent Roadtrip opportunity on the infamous Likya Way.
